Luna in my arms, she is safe, thanks to all of you. Each single share and click, each prayer, each step to put up posters and talk to people and walk the terrain searching, a huge miracle happened last night. THANK YOU!
CACI Gundogrescue have been an incredible source of strength and inspiration, coordinating, and moving mountains. Thank you! Today I'll be doing my best to begin thanking everyone.
Luna was in the Maniwa Farm area after all, I got the phone call around 18:15, drove over from Tensui Soba and YES! it was really her, I just dropped to my knees and began to cry as she jumped into my lap...so incredibly happy and relieved.
We popped by Maniwa Farm, Olive and Tensui to thank them for their cooperation and help, and Pension Olive took this picture...when we got out of the car, she was skipping and running to the door, she remembers the happy times well. I cannot thank Pension Olive enough for their warm support and help searching.
Then began the long drive home in heavy traffic, I couldn't get on my phone to tell everyone and thank you all as I was driving, Luna and I stopped off for a pee at Sano parking area but otherwise drove through, getting home around midnight: almost 24 hours on the road for Mummy, but I was in overdrive, we got home safe, and headed straight for the shower! No broken bones, thank God, a few scrapes here and there and one tick on her cheek that I discovered and removed this morning ( I did apply Frontline before we left for Nasu).
I guess I'm still in overdrive, got up at five to cook Luna some stamina breakfast, kelp soup with chunks of marlin, yams, carrots, white radish, cabbage...gotta get some meat back on this baby!
Thank you all so much, this miracle is made by all of you! Nobu was so worried, he didn't want to drive home a week ago, and since then has been sleeping under the table in Luna's place, and dripping water all over the floor like she does after drinking. Thank you, he says, here's a paw in gratitude!

Still Looking
Went to Nasu, hoping to find Luna near the interchange at Azumagoya, but it was a different dog. Placed urine scents from Nobu, Claire and me soaked in my pillow and pyjamas all around Pension Olive again with the help of Monet-mama, and then we had lunch at Tensui Soba. Possible LUNA sighting near TENSUI SOBA LAST NIGHT, I heard this morning! If only I hadn't driven home yesterday night...After lunch we moved over to Maniwa farm, walking and searching, and I went to sleep in the Nasu service area, driving home through the night to get back for 2am...weirly wired up now, praying we can find her near deliciousTensui soba or she moves back to the freshly scented Pension Olive...just wondering if I have the energy to drive over again tonight...the being the prime holiday week, it will be so crowded, the only time to drive is in the small hours...
I prayed at the roadside shrine for animals near Kashiwadai jinja, a really powerful sacred site for Luna's safety and safe recovery... those mountain gods are deep and powerful, they will bring her back to me! Along with all of you friends and volunteers, thank you so much for helping keep the search and the spirit going. When all this is over, I really recommend having cheesecake at Maniwa farm and walking up past the 柏台神社, it seems to have a really special sacred aura up there...power spot!

Luna Search and Rescue Operation
Today, day four Luna's been on the loose in Nasu, volunteers from CACI Gundog rescue are distributing 3000 leaflets and searching in the area for Luna. Thank you, and I pray all the efforts bear fruit.
I am still trying to kick this debilitating headache, and thinking of driving up again alone with the Nobu and Claire Monday if she hasn't been found and I'm feeling better, so we can reset the scents after the typhoon rain has passed through.
I'm still really hoping the microchip and collar will prove useful, one kind lady called me up to tell me not to give up hope, and said her pointer was found 16kms away, she had a phone call from a kind person who took the dog in. Meanwhile I am blown away by the huge response from friends and volunteers out searching, can't thank you enough, teary eyed with all the love going round.
I am really sure she knows the scent of Pension Olive where we were staying, we were there for five days in spring when she was quite sick, so we just spent whole days lying in the grass in the dog run under the trees, and on Sunday when we arrived we did the same, so it will surely be a place she can aim for, even if the typhoon rains wash away the scents of me and the doggies peeing along the road she went for her morning walk. Right now I am clutching my head, knocking back aspirins and praying for her quick and safe recovery.

Luna 72hours missing
Still hunting in the west Nasu area for 18kg setter lady Luna, who can swim, is microchipped, wearing two collars, black leather with silver and turquoise studs, and a jeans soft collar with name LUNA and mobile phone number. Very friendly, loves white bread, will sit for food on command.
Praying that today she will ask some friendly humans for food and shelter, or find her way back to Pension Olive where she spent five days in spring, and three days this summer. Just over 72hours now since the leash clip popped open on her morning walk and she dashed off like a missile into the beckoning verdure: rolling hills of green fields and rice paddies, thickets and copses for shade, streams and rivers galore and of course birds innumerable, must have smelled like heaven. She never looked back...
Hubs called me frantic on the cell and I ran along the road to where he stood hoping she would circle back, calling and calling, and so the hunt began for both her and me, only for me, Luna is my pigeon, my grouse, my quail...I wish I could have just smelled her out....I had no idea losing a dog could hurt so much, feel like my navel has been gored by a spear and my heart pierced with another. Please share this and keep an eye out for her or pass on the word in any way possible...hugging my phone, and thanking all of you who are helping in the search from the bottom of my heart. Chiaro di Luna, may God be with you and bring you home to me.

Luna still missing
Luna loves BREAD! Best way to lure her close, plain old white bread...
This picture of Luna taken in the dogrun by the owner of Pension Olive just two days before she went missing- they have been so kind helping us look, both by car and bicycle, and distributing posters, and even let us stay on an extra night in case she came home. Today I was exhausted and suffering from heatstroke, 20kms on Tuesday and 8kms yesterday walking round in the heat from 5:00a.m. searching, calling, distributing leaflets, calling various police stations and town halls, and so with terrible migraine and vomiting had to come home this morning.
I am now at home recharging my batteries and waiting for a phone call from some friendly person whose house or farm she may take shelter in. There was a possible sighting on Tuesday evening near Maniwa Farm, but if it was her, she has crossed the big river and a bridge, which means she may not be able to find her way back to Pension Olive. We drove over ...my glasses broke on the way and my head was killing me, and she wasn't anywhere in sight, so we gave up again...
A huge thank you to CACI Gundog Rescue who has been helping coordinate the search. RalphAmelieBona papa took the afternoon off work to help us search yesterday, distributing leaflets as he went. Thank you! Angie and Rondo's dad is out with bread searching right now on my behalf, I cannot thank you enough, and just pray the search bears fruit. I have such a big hole in my heart, it's painful...Do take care, this heat is excruciating.
Dogs are such clever creatures, and Luna is a wily veteran in her setter element, if her innards haven't given out on her (she is on the verge of rupturing her spleen, says the vet) I'm praying and trusting she'll be home safe and back in my arms again soon.

Help.!
ルナ探し、シエアください. ポスター作ってくれました。Luna is missing in Nasu 大字高久丙area (near Pension Olive) since early morning August 5th. She is microchipped and wearing a black leather collar with silver and turquoise studs, and a second jeans style soft collar with name Luna and mobile phone number. We are searching the area, but she may have run quite far, being a setter who loves to hunt and run...CACI have made a poster, please print out and/ or share. I am praying we find her safe, either through the police/animal welfare authorities (duly notified) or some kind person who finds her- please call me asap. So many friends and doggie lovers are on this hunt for my treasure, thank you so much for the huge show of support.

Long summer days...
Thunder rumbling outside now but that doesn't disturb the drowsy mood, morning walk, toy tussle, grooming, lazy time, evening walk, toy tussle, lazy time, in between it's food and food and ho hum, food?
